Westin Boston Waterfront Plaza Restoration

To correct persistent water infiltration issues, the Boston Westin called on BACR’s expertise to put a permanent solution in place.  The team is removing and replacing the expansion joint system in the highly active plaza between the main entrances of the Westin Boston Waterfront Hotel and the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center.  In addition to the removal and replacement of the expansion joint systems, the project includes the removal and replacement of:

  • A precast stairway
  • Over 10,000 sq. ft. of concrete topping
  • Granite base cladding around the building
  • Landscaping between the two facilities

Strong coordination is required to complete each phase of the project in order to maintain full access to both the 800-room Westin Hotel and operations of the convention center or plaza.
