McDonald’s Hamburger University Pedestrian Bridge
The problem:
A 30-year old post-tensioned concrete pedestrian bridge structure, which crosses a 30-acre lake located in the center of the McDonald’s Corporation was in need of the following repairs:
- New water-proofing system, required to maintain the structural components of the post-tensioned structure and improve the pedestrian surface for year-round operations all while preserving the original aesthetics of the original structure
Bulley & Andrews Concrete Restoration provided the following services to repair the damage:
- Utilized dustless equipment for the concrete repairs and surface preparation, which eliminated possible contamination of the surrounding habitat
- A sand-loaded traffic-bearing membrane system was installed with a custom color top. With the excellent chemical resistance and superior color retention, this application provided the required protection for the structure while maintaining the original aesthetic of the original design
All work was conducted with as little impact to the surrounding environment as possible.
